With SAP JVM 4.1, customers can get as long support for their JDK as they get for the remaining SAP NetWeaver 2004 and SAP NetWeaver 7.0 based software from SAP. SAP JVM 4.1 is supported directly by SAP.

SAP developed its own Java Virtual Machine (JVM) 1.4.2, named SAP JVM 4 in order to ensure the guaranteed support for SAP Web Application Server 6.40 and SAP NetWeaver 7.0 systems.

You can check the current JDK on SAP system with the help below snap

You can search for the relevant packages on SAP Service Marketplace as follows:

  1. Go to http://service.sap.com/patches
  2. Choose "Search for Support Packages and Patches"
  3. Enter Search Term "SAP JVM 4*"

SAP JVM 4.1

After download, You get the below .SAR files

Now extract the JVM Switch tool only with sapcar command

Now run the sapinst from extracted files

Please browse the correct path like G:\usr\sap\SOL\SYS\profile

Put the password of SIDadm


Now give the path of JVM 4 in below screen


select the SAP JVM4

If you want to change the value of any parameter then you just check and revise it

JVM successfully replaced with jdk.

You can check the SAP JVM version with different ways like below

Run ST11 and check the JVM version in the file dev_server0


you can also check from http://SystemName:50000

run the java-version command

Now You need to put the JVM parameters in Instance profile

You need to check the value of User environmental variable JAVA_HOME
