University Alliances @ the 11th International Conference on Wirtschaftsinformatik (WI) in Leipzig, Germany (February 27 – March 1, 2013)

With the start into the New Year, there are a lot of exiting and interesting academic conferences just around the corner. One of them is definitely the WI conference in Leipzig. The “Wirtschaftsinformatik” is the leading business information systems conference in the German speaking countries and brings together around 800 academics and practitioners in the areas of business informatics, informatics, and business administration.

SAP functions as one of the main sponsors and will be prominently represented throughout the week. SAP University Alliances and the University Competence Centers will be present with a booth. Conference attendees will have the possibility to get insights into the latest curriculum projects and latest product innovations like SAP HANA.

The HPI will showcase several demos and apps from the Future Soc Lab with a focus on cloud computing and In-Memory. Furthermore, SAP Recruiting will be present as well to position SAP as an employer of choice and promote projects such as the Software Campus.

In order to reach students directly, a Design Thinking Jam will be offered on February 26. Students from Leipzig and its environs will be invited to participate in an 8 hour Design Thinking session. The session will start with an introduction to Design Thinking principals. Later on these skills will be applied to solve a team exercise around the overall topic Innovation, Integration, Individualization. Professional Design Thinking coaches will support the teams during their process from finding an idea for a new software solution until the creation of a prototype concept. In the end, these prototypes will be presented to the group.

We are looking forward to meet you there! Stay tuned, we will keep you posted!
