This is the kind of information we also require if you need to open a XX-PART-HPS-QUC Support Message with SAP

  –  Is the problem related to QC or QTP ?
     (For scripting errors you should try to run the script directly from QTP)

  –  Do you know the version and patch level of all the software involved -> QC, QTP, SAPgui, Windows, etc
     (refer to SAP notes 1329891, 1453148, 1499072, and 1627263 for QC and QTP patch info)

  –  Is the issue QC user specific ?

  –  Is the issue project specific ?

  –  Is the issue specific to one workstation ?

  –  Does the problem occur if you log into Windows with a different NT account ?

  –  Can the problem be reproduced on demand ?

  –  Do you have a clear list of steps to reproduce it ?

  –  Check the QC Server Logs
     (a) Login into Site Administrator   > Servers tab
     (b) Highlight Quality Center on the left pane
     (c) Set the log level to Debug
     (d) Write down the “Log File Location” so that you can retrieve the logs
     (e) Reproduce the problem and check the logs against the time when the problem occurred so that you can verify which errors in the logs are most relevant

  –  Check the SA Server Logs
     (a) Login into Site Administrator   > Servers tab
     (b) Highlight Site Administrator on the left pane
     (c) Set the log level to Debug
     (d) Write down the “Log File Location” so that you can retrieve the logs
     (e) Reproduce the problem and check the logs against the time when the problem occurred so that you can verify which errors in the logs are most relevant
