    Dear customers,

The setup procedure from the SDN Blog is not supported and will prevent the app from working correctly.

Please follow the documentation of the SAP System Mobile app:

DO NOT follow the setup instructions and DO NOT  perform any customization like DISABLING Cross-Site Request Forgery Protection.

To setup the mobile services in the SAP Solution Manager please
open the Solution Manager Configuration workcenter > System Preparation >
    Configure Connectivity > Configure Gateway.

For  SP6 follow additionally the instructions from the SAP notes1786290 and 1786117.

Gateway Setup in the SAP Solution Manager Setup workcenter > System Preparation > Step 4.5 “Gateway Setup” provides automatic gateway setup. With SP6 you need additionally to follow the instructions from the SAP Note 1786290.

The app’s Quick Start Guide provides detailed infromation how to setup the mobile app.

For questions please open a CSN message on the MOB-APP-SMG-MON.

    Thanks and Kind Regards,

    Mihail Fridljand

      Hi Mihail,

I have a slightly different question concerning the Mobile app. Although, I have successfully configured the Sys Mon and EEM and are working ok.

The question is – Dashboards and Interactive Reporting???

When would we see these in Mobile/ipad as this seems to be a more pressing requirements from my customer’s top man.

Any development news or ETA would be great if this is not already released.

      Thanx

      Deepak

    Hi Huseyin,

Thanks for sharing. And thanks to the app developers for producing!

We have both the iOS and Android versions on the EEM mobile App in “prototyping” at the moment.

There seem to be some differences in the apps on each platform.

For example, on iOS it seems to be possible to configure an app login password when starting the app (the password can be activated or deactivated in settings).

On the Android version, there doesn’t seem to be a way to deactivate the password. It requires a “Vault” password of 8 characters minimum to be entered before the app login can occur.

If anyone from SAP is listening/watching, it would be good to understand why the difference please?

    Cheers & Thanks, Phil G.

Initially I performed the configuration listed in this post and when trying to either confirm alerts or confirm alert types I receive an error related to missing XCSRF tokens.  I then reverted the changes in steps 4,5 and now I get HTTP request error occurred: Internal error occurred on the server. error code: 11 when even trying to select a system to review.

The quick start guide doesnt actually cover any of the setup steps from this thread so should I assume that as long as I’m at Solman 7.1 SP6 and have the gateway components deployed, this should just work?

    Thanks,

    Josh Fisher

Right now the quick start guide is about what and how to do in the app and not in the Solution Manager backend. There is another document for Solution Manager.

In short the services have to be activated in the SAP Solution Manager Configuration work center > System Preparation > Configure Connectivity > Gateway Services provides. With SP6 you need additionally to follow the instructions from the SAP Note 1786290.  With SP8 there is no longer manual setup necessary but you must perform Basic Configuration> Configure Automatically > Activate pieces list before.

Maybe it is a good idea to explain briefly also in the quick start guide how to activate the services in the Solution Manager.

XSRF token It is a vital security feature that should not be deactivated. If you have problems with the app please open a message on the MOB-APP-SMG-MON.

      Best Regards,

      Mihail Fridljand

Thanks for the information Mihail.  After updating my configuration to reflect your comments, my error is centralized to a “…error code: 11”.  I do have a ticket open though so I’ll see what I get back.  I am running SP7 so I may patch to SP8 to see if the error changes at that point.

        Thanks,

        Josh Fisher

            Hi Mihail,

My ticket is currently tied up with our SAP VAR for analysis and I have no idea how long it will take for that to get through to SAP support.  I will let you know the ticket # when and if that occurs.

            Thanks,

            Josh

              Mihail,

My OSS ticket has gone through VAR support to SAP and is message #0120050409 0000004893 2013.  My upgrade to SPS8 didn’t seem to have any effect.

              Regards,

              Josh

DO NOT perform any customization like DISABLING Cross-Site
    Request Forgery Protection.

This is incorrect and will cause errors in the mobile apps.

To setup the mobile services in the SAP Solution Manager please
open the Solution Manager Configuration workcenter > System Preparation >
    Configure Connectivity > Configure Gateway.

This SP6 follow additionally the instructions from the SAP notes1786290 and 1786117.

    Dear Huseyin Bilgen,

Thank you very much for the providing guidance on the setup of
the mobile applications for the SAP Solution Manager. The described steps do
not adhere to the latest SP and no longer required.  Unfortunately, your blog is a constant source of support messages on the SAP side. Were it possible for you to deactivate it?

    Best Regards,

    Mihail Fridljand

      Hi Mihail,

You’re right that for now at least 11  OSS ticket is referring to my blog.

I agree you that it is no more relevant for up-2-date Solution Manager SPs I’m deactivating it today.
