In this post I would like to explain how you can add portal iViews and Pages into your enterprise workspaces.

In order to do that, we have three steps:

  1. Enable the 'Add to Workspace' option in enterprise workspaces.
  2. Choose portal Web Dynpro pages or PRT iViews to add to an enterprise workspace.
  3. Add the Web Dynpro page or PRT iView to an existing enterprise workspace.

Enable the 'Add to Workspace' option in enterprise workspaces

In the Workspace Administration Role, navigate to Configuration --> Content.

Under Content Providers –Portal iViews, set the Enable 'Add to Workspace' option to true and save changes.

Choose portal Web Dynpro pages or PRT iViews to add to an enterprise workspace

The next step, after we configure the functionality in enterprise workspaces, is to add the options to add an iView or

a Web Dynpro page to an enterprise workspace.

In order to do that, we need to navigate to a portal role and open it for editing.

Choose an iView or page inside the portal role and open it for editing. for example, you can choose

the Universal Worklist page.

Choose the Universal Worklist iView and open it for editing:

Navigate to All Properties:

Choose Category: Enterprise Workspaces

Click on Modify Properties and set the value Enable Adding to Workspace to true (check the value checkbox).

Save the changes and close the role for editing.

Add the Web Dynpro page or PRT iView to an existing enterprise workspace

The last step is adding the portal iView or Web Dynpro page to an existing enterprise workspace page.

You can add the content to your personal workspace or to a workspace that you manage.

Login to the portal with user that is assigned to the portal role you edited.

Navigate to the PRT iView or Web Dynpro page whose property you edited:

Click on the Tray option and see that you have a new option: Add to Workspace

Click on the Add to Workspace option. A new pop up called Add Item to Workspaces will open.

If you did not create or manage any workspace, the table will be empty like in this image:

If you already created personal or shared workspaces, they will be in that list:

When you choose a workspace, you will see all the workspace pages in the table below.

Choose the page you would like to add the PRT iView or Web Dynpro page into as a module and click on

the Add button.

Choose one of the following options: Go to Page, Add to Another Workspace or Close.

If you choose Go to Page, you will navigate to the new module inside the workspace and the page you chose.

If you chose the option Add to Another Workspace, you will be returned to the previous step.

If you chose the option Close, the pop up will close.

In this way you can add PRT iView or Web Dynpro pages into your workspace pages.

After the item was added as a module to an enterprise portal, you can rename it or reorder it in the page.

Good luck   ,

Yael.
