Training
Courses include:

- Sybase Unwired Platform (SUP) for Administrators
- Sybase Afaria for Administrators
- Sybase Unwired Platform (SUP) for Architects
For SMP3 training check out the following blog: http://scn.sap.com/community/mobile/blog/2013/08/21/get-your-hands-on-sap-mobile-platform-30
Ramp-up, General Availability (GA) & end-of-life information
SAP Partners can get access to software that is in Ramp-Up at http://service.sap.com/partnerportal/rampup
Licensing
Mobile apps catalog
Analyst reports
SAP provides access to the analyst reports describing the different mobile vendors – SAP and the competitors.
Especially the Gartner Magic Quadrant is a highly sought after report
Software and SDK downloads
We get questions about where to find software downloads. There are 3 spaces:
- SAP service market place for platform and server installs
- The developer community for SDKs and trials (see above)
- The SAP store for mobile apps (see above)
To make things easy, here are a couple of direct links.
To download the SAP mobile platform products go to http://service.sap.com/swdc -> Installations and Upgrades -> Browse our Download Catalog -> Sybase Products. There you find all the platforms listed.
Direct links for SUP and Afaria are (won’t work for you before GA if you are not part of ramp-up):
- SYBASE UNWIRED PLATFORM 2.2 – Installation & Upgrade
- SYBASE UNWIRED PLATFORM 2.2 – Support Packages & Patches
- SYBASE AFARIA 7.0 – Installation & Upgrade
- SYBASE AFARIA 7.0 – Support Packages & Patches
You can find all direct download links for any SAP product in the PAM – http://service.sap.com/pam – Software Download tab:
Download the following items here:
- Download SAP Mobile Platform SDK – Developer Edition
- Free 30-day SUP trial
- Your SUP server on Amazon
- 14-day free Afaria trial
Developer and Partner programs (including costs)
Another question we hear a lot is about how developer and partner programs work and what associated costs are.
There are 2 programs:
- The aforementioned developer center that gives you access to SDKs, tutorials and trials: http://scn.sap.com/community/developer-center/mobility-platform
- The partner program allowing partners to build on our platform and to monetize their apps https://www.sapmobileappspartnercenter.com/
The developer program offers free software trials (see above), but the partner program which allows you to monetize you applications using SAP’s global reach via the SAP store does have some fees associated with it: https://www.sapmobileappspartnercenter.com/pdf/Mobile_Platform_Partner_Fact_Sheet.pdf
For more details on partner and developer program check out the associated FAQs:
– Developer Getting started FAQ: http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-28279

Great job pulling all this information together in one place.
Brilliant blog, thanks 🙂
Thanks David! I hope it will help customers, partners and prospects in navigating the large waters of SAP.
Its a great start 🙂 thanks, your blog went down a storm in Capgemini on Yammer ... with lots of "did you know you can find this here ...." conversations.
Great work Jens Koerner its an excellent blog.
Really really great blog Jens. Thanks for taking the trouble to compile this. In return it was worth my while to log into SCN and tap out this comment using the infuriating touchpad on my iPad, and to give it the big 5 stars.
Best blog I've seen this year 🙂
Cheers
John
Thanks John. I really appreciate it!
I would describe this as a "Mega Elite Blog". Good stuff Jens!
Great job, very helpful. Kudos to the product manager!
But it looks like that "SAP Mobile" does not include the area of "SAP BI Mobile" (e.g. WebIntelligence reports on smartphones, etc.)?!
Hi Andreas.
yes, this blog is more focused on the mobile platform but that does not mean Mobile BI is not important. We covered it at length at the BI4 Elite enablement and Tammy wrote some great blogs that are worth checking out - e.g., http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-34688
hope that helps,
Jens
This is a top effort and a superb resource for the community. I salute your attention to detail and effort in pulling this off! 🙂
Hi Jens.
Thank you very much for your post.
I wasted all day while looking for documentation in the Internet. And I found exact link here.
🙂
Hi Jens,
Thanks for this great blog!
I would like to add references to the new offering of the SAP NetWeaver Mobile Portal:

Aviad
Thank you Jens for bringing all this information together into one site.
Best regards
Manfred
Hello Jens,
Thanks a lot man.. Very useful blog.

Hi Jens
Many thanks. I wonder are you able to create or link of Sybase365 products as well?
CJ Park
Great Blog Jens. It will smoothen the SAP mobile ride for lot of people new to it and experts as well.
Cheers!!!
Nice central place, because this mobile data is just everywhere.
One other thing, do you know of anything mobile for an SME, for example normal SAP mobile solutions are normally too expensive for an SME. I currently only see SME's using BAPI's with some SSL on a web page, eg for getting information to salespeople.
Regards
Waza
Independent analysts / experts / pundits / opinionizers / BIG personalities Jon Reed and Dennis Howlett have published 19 mobile and mobile-related video interviews and commentaries, for those who might like to view these in addition to the SAP and SAP-hosted materials.
