Grainger is a global MRO Distributor (Maintenance, Repair and Operations) with operations all over the world which has around 21,000 employees, 3,500 vendors and over 2 million active customers.  In 2011 they did 8.1 billion in sales with 2.2 billion coming from e-commerce.  So when they looked for a mobile solution to work with their SAP systems, they needed a solution that could scale as well as continue to evolve with their business.

Prior to deploying Syclo, now part of SAP, Grainger’s more than 2000 U.S. based field sellers, covering multiple industries, were using large, cumbersome laptops and an additional communication device (corporate Blackberry or their personal phone) to do their jobs.  With SAP’s Sales Manager mobile app, the technicians are much more nimble and able to access even more data and do more work with any handheld device – even offline!
