Thanks to those of you who attended the Special Interest Group at the SAP UK & Ireland User Group Conference on November 19th in Manchester. As promised, here is a brief summary of my presentation including links etc.

I will be running some Google+ Hangouts next year on various topics and have some key speakers lined up so if you are interested please follow me on SCN or Link In with me Linked In. I want to thank All the guys at UKISUG including martin.lewis3 for his tireless work organising the Business One SIGs whilst running a business, Adam, Holly, Craig and everyone else at the User Group.

Initially I spoke about the SAP Community Network and how you can use it to read / post blogs but also I demonstrated how powerful it is in answering your SAP related questions. Key rules here are to make sure you Star Rate and “Like” stuff you think is useful. Also, if someone answers your question it is etiquette to mark it as answered and “Like” it. SCN works on a points basis and this will encourage people to answer your questions!

Next I showed you Evernote www.evernote.com that can be used to collaborate on documents, use for digital signature capture and get your field technicians to store photos back in head office. I used the “Sign My Pad” app to store signatures https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/signmypad/id380299554?mt=8

We looked at www.linkedin.com and how you can build your network. I would recommend joining the SAP User Group on Linked In http://www.linkedin.com/groups?gid=2695400&trk=myg_ugrp_ovr They will also set up a Business One sub group for you all to network and share ideas.

I used Google+ to build up SAP contacts but more usefully to run the live web chats called Hangouts. You can have up to 10 people at any time and this is useful if you want to share ideas with each other or join the Hangouts I will be running on SAP Business One next year.  https://plus.google.com/

The SAP Idea Place is where you can all post your great ideas for how to improve the Business One software. Once you have posted it, remember to promote the idea on Linked In, SCN and Twitter so we can all vote on it and get the attention of SAP. Any really good ideas I will be happy to send them on to the senior guys I know who are always interested.  https://cw.sdn.sap.com/cw/community/ideas/sme/b1

I hope you enjoyed the presentation and I look forward to keeping in contact with you all on Linked In / SCN.
