SAP TechEd Madrid 2012 – Day 3 (Meet the partners)
Good news: No more strikes today in Madrid. Bad news, that meant traffic jams in the morning. However, not a problem with the shuttle service everyone conveniently arrived in time (at least I did).
So what happened today? Basically I would like to talk about two main topics. First partners presenting with SAP at a networking session and then I would like to let you know about SAP NetWeaver Gateway and SAP Mobile Platform put into context. In addition you should know that tonight is concert night. If you are at TechEd / SAPPHIRE you can enjoy Supertramp in Hall 6 starting at 8:45 pm (pick up tickets from 8 pm on).
Partner solutions and implementation with SAP NetWeaver Gateway
Time: 9 am
Location: Hall 8, Lounge 2, IFEMA Madrid
Topic: Partner solutions and implementations with SAP NetWeaver Gateway
As early as it was – especially the day after strike night – the participants of the networking session were hardly able to find a seat.
During the session André Fischer gave a short introduction to SAP NetWeaver Gateway for the interested audience.
After that the partners presented their innovative solutions:
- Martin Laus from BridgingIT presented the certified PM Radar for Mobile Workforce. The PM Radar for Mobile Workforce is a geo driven solution that can be used by your workforce to easily access selected details of nearby located functional locations in an agile field service scenario.
- Owen Pettiford from Comprise IT presented the Whistle Blower already certified earlier this year. The solution allows the reporting of incidents from browseres and mobile devices. After that he talked about the Manager Timesheet a solution that allows managers to review all their employess on a single screen.
SAP NetWeaver Gateway at EnBW
Time: 10:15 am
Location: Hall 8, L3, IFEMA Madrid
Topic: Signing Customer Contracts Online Using SAP NetWeaver Gateway at EnBW
Another well visited session (CD214) on SAP NetWeaver Gateway this time from a customer: EnBW. EnBW is one of Germany’s largest energy companies and using SAP NetWeaver Gateway. In this session EnBW presented their solution where they used SAP NetWeaver Gateway for signing customer contracts. Very interesting session on how SAP NetWeaver Gateway can be used to simplify processes for agents in the field. I.e. in this case that means instead of complicated paperwork it comes down to smooth management through handheld devices.
Later that day
Later during that day I had the opportunity to participate in different very interesting sessions. While a lot of the information I got is not relevant here I would still like to direct your attention to a great document:
“The SAP Mobile Platform and SAP NetWeaver Gateway in the context of End-to-End Enterprise Mobility” document gives you a good understanding of what SAP Mobile Platform is and what it isn’t and does the same for SAP NetWeaver Gateway and even better puts both into context.
The Longest day…
Ended with an awesome concert of Supertramp… 🙂
