The company made its first step toward speeding up analysis and reporting processes several years ago, when it implemented SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse Accelerator software. SAP HANA database technology is the consequential development; using in-memory technology, Köhler can analyze data much more quickly and in much finer detail. The time needed to analyze inventory has gone down from five minutes to only five seconds for a total of 7 million data records on all possible criteria – from the purchase of raw materials to the invoicing of the end product – which resulted in a 98 % faster reporting runtime.
