SAP Virtual Appliances for Your Private Cloud: Additional Demo and Discussion
The emergence of cloud computing technologies allows SAP applications to be made available instantly for a fraction of normal deployment costs as a branded cloud service for private and public clouds. The same technologies are available to move systems around between clouds and utilizations, to manipulate them as necessary: SAP applications have started to float above (cloud) infrastructures like never before.
One of the key enabling technologies of leveraging SAP in cloud environments is the pre-packaging of ready-to-run systems for immediate consumption when needed. Massive savings in time and effort, but also elimination of errors in the seamless provisioning of enterprise-class systems, are creating very attractive new use cases of innovating with and deploying SAP applications in your own space.
SAP has two ways to facilitate and support such a cloud service delivery on a global scale. Both are innovative approaches to deploying SAP Virtual Appliances into the cloud, providing the ability to immediately leverage the potential of preassembled, preconfigured SAP solutions, run instant demos, and pilot new SAP technologies without any delay. One is a services-centered option which allows high levels of flexibility to incorporate custom requirements, provisioning systems or landscapes into a hosted SAP environment, or delivering them via the dedicated Cloud Logistics Services to private or other clouds as needed. The other is a highly automated option with self-service access and control to SAP’s latest systems, hosted on public cloud resources.
We have a session at TECHED Madrid where we will provide an overview of how SAP Virtual Appliances are created and consumed, and discuss key learnings from the past 6 years of factory production and mass provisionings. The session will also include a demo of bringing up a Virtual Appliance in a private cloud environment:
- TEC114: Simple and Fast SAP software Deployments as Virtual Appliances
Speakers: Markus Winter, Chief Product Owner and @Ralf_Lindenlaub, VP Cloud Solution Services
Wednesday, 03:45 pm – 04:45 pm
We have also added a Networking Session for you to interact directly with us about how we make Virtual Appliances work, how we create them, how they are brought up in a customer environment:
- EXP047: Technical Deep-dive on SAP Virtual Appliances
Speakers: Ralf Lindenlaub, VP Cloud Solution Services
Tuesday, 04:00 pm – 04:30 pm
We look forward to seeing you at TechEd, or another opportunity in the near future.
