SAP Partners – Looking to the Future

As we head into SAPPHIRE NOW Madrid, I want to focus on the future, specifically the importance customers put on our partners offering a future orientation.  

Adapting to the future is more important than everfor business, in today’s fast paced world. What trends are coming,  i and how will they affect you and your customers? Organizations must set their focus on understanding the business, the market, and having the ability to respond and innovate faster or operate more profitably. 

Consider the case of Medix Biochemica, which produces antibodies and diagnostic tests for human healthcare. The tests are designed for identifying complications during pregnancy and a number of other acute conditions. More than 85% of Medix Biochemica’s sales come from export, primarily to European Union countries, the United States, and Japan.

The company had long run its business using an enterprise resource planning system and a completely separate financials system they’d outgrown. The two applications did not interact with each other, so a great deal of time was spent manually moving data between them. The situation reached a breaking point when it became clear that the system was nearing the end of its life.

“We knew the time had come for us to upgrade our business software to a new level in order to stay in control,” said Ismo Råman, CEO, Medix Biochemica Ab.

Medix Biochemica needed its new solution to provide integrated functionality including financial, sales, materials, and production management information. The solution had to address many unique needs found within the pharmaceutical industry, including compliance with the regulations of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and similar bodies in other countries.

As a small company, Medix Biochemica was looking for a tailor-made solution. Their SAP Partner, Solteq Plc, had another suggestion. There was a SAP Business All-in-One solution that had been specifically tailored for the pharmaceutical industry.

“Choosing a ready-made industry solution was a cost-efficient alternative for a small company like us and eliminated a large amount of work that would have otherwise been required,” said Hannele Winter, IT Manager, Medix Biochemica.

Since the instillation was completed, Solteq have taken care of all the maintenance and inspection.

“Together with Solteq, we are constantly developing the system further, so that it grows with us into the future,” remarks Hannele.
