There is also nothing like a bespoke kitchen either, which Bruynzeel Keukens produce for more than 100,000 customers each year. With 45 stores in the Netherlands and Belgium and phenomenal growth, the company needed to streamline the process of designing kitchens through to home installation.
Over the years Bruynzeel Keukens struggled to develop a system that integrated the entire process chain from kitchen design with the customer, through to manufacturing, installation and invoicing. What they wanted was a single transparent digital administrative system instead of numerous separate systems.
By decreasing the reliance on manual paperwork and introducing a standardized process, Bruynzeel could speed delivery and save both time and money. But to design and create kitchens in an automatic, paperless system was going to require a bespoke approach. This is when they turned to the SAP partner mYuice.
“We are a kitchen designer and retailer at the same time, so integration of the chain provides us with immediate quality improvements. Unfortunately, no standard solution existed for our unique situation,” said Manuel de Groot, Bruynzeel’s information and communications technology manager. “We developed a completely integrated end-to-end solution together with mYuice based on our needs, which is unprecedented for the kitchen industry.
“The implementation went extremely well. We were able to roll out all of the sub-processes on a phased basis in the factory based on a takeover plan carefully designed by the project team. This allowed us to manage the risks effectively.”
The results of the new system have had a dramatic effect. “It used to take several hours to develop and forward an order once a kitchen was designed. Now, once the customer approves the design, the sales staff can send the order to the factory with the push of a button. This saves so much time, and now we always have enough sales staff present, even at peak times.”
The system is so effective that Bruynzeel has seen a 50% increase in flawless kitchen installations and the sales process has been shortened by an average of three hours.
