Blog it Forward – Jacob Vaidyan
My colleague Mark Marcus, asked me to join his “Blog it Forward” challenge. I think it is a great way to learn the blogging process on SCN.
Those of you, who are not familiar with the “Blog It ForwardChallenge”, please read Moshe Naveh’s blog [http://scn.sap.com/community/about/blog/2012/08/20/blog-it-forward-community-challenge]
I am part of SAP’s value engineering team where I work with customers/prospects on IT Strategy, transformation opportunities, business cases, IT/Business roadmap and innovation topics.
Here are the questions Mark Marcus asked me to answer:
What was your dream job as a kid?
I have had different dream jobs at different stages of my growing up 🙂 . I was always good in academics as a kid, so had a ‘world is my oyster’ view of dream jobs – so it kept changing. It is only when I got into my bachelors studies that I got interested in IT and over the years got passionate about ‘IT as an enabler of transformation’.
What is your favorite place in the world?
My favorite place in the world is Kerala, India. I am orginally from Kerala and that is where I spent all of my summer holidays when I was a kid – so lot of fun holiday memories are associated with Kerala. Today, I am in Kerala at least once every year to visit family and relax.

Other reasons I love Kerala:
- Quiet & Scenic
- Relaxed and very laid back
- Kerala Cuisine
What was the most fun project you ever participated in and why?
The most fun project I have done in the recent past is an internal innovation project I did on a GTM model for SAP consulting. The project gave me an opportunity to work with some incredible folks from across SAP, work on what we believed was a game changer in consulting, opportunity to work with senior leadership in consulting and work on a pilot for a service transformation initiative. I believe it is the people who you get to work with and the difference you personally get to make that makes a project fun and this project provided exactly that 🙂 .
In keeping the BIF going, I am asking the following questions:
- What was your dream job as a kid?
- What is your favorite place in the world?
- What was the most fun project you ever participated in and why?
To the following people :
Thanks for getting involved! I plan to visit India next year for work and holiday reasons so Kerala will now be on the list. I hope to read more of your blogs on SCN.
Tim
Thanks Tim. Kerala is on the southern end of India - so depends on where in India your work brings you - if it is bangalore, kerala is only 1.5 hours by flight. Hope you enjoy your India trip - happy to help with suggestions etc.
