BI Content Installation

In this document, I will take you through the steps of business content installation

What is business content installation?

The process of converting system generated objects from delivered (D) version into active (A) version

Advantages:

• Faster Implementation
• Less number of resources to implement a project

Steps to do BI Content Installation:

• Go to RSA1
• Go to ‘BI Content’ pane
• Select any one of the following options based on the requirement
• Info provider by info area
• Info objects by info area
• Info sources by info area
• Roles
• Object types
• Objects in BW
• Transport Request
• Packages
• Search for the specific object and move it to the right side window
• Select one of the grouping techniques as required
  • Only necessary objects
  • In data flow before
  • In data flow afterwards
  • In data flow before and afterwards
• Select collection mode  to ‘Collect Automatically’
• Select ‘Install’ drop down menu
• Select one of the following options
  • Simulate Installation
  • Install
  • Install in background
  • Install and transport (Never select this option)

Note: Before installing the BI content objects, we need to follow the below steps

• Simulate the installation first
• Install in background
• After successful installation, load the data to cubes, save the objects into transport request
