TechEd re-cap: Virtualization is “on”!

I had lots of interesting talks with customers, partners and colleagues about virtualization, cloud and the now available SAP NW Landscape Virtualization Management Software (LVM).

I recognized three main topics customers wanted to talk about

• Virtualization is well known and the question is less on “if”, more on “how” to adopt. Customers were asking on specific topics like constraints in big environments, choice of technologies and how to transform and migrate. Especially I had talks on virtualization with VMware technology, keeping necessary downtime as low as possible during migration and database support
• Cloud is coming up more and more, in terms of explaining differences between virtualization and cloud, use cases for cloud, support and migration paths
• SAP NW LVM caught high level of interest and customers understood the value of a centralized management and the automation potential this solution offers.

For all that questions we were not only able to apply some patches at virtualization clinic, but even more are able to help with our services on virtualization and cloud management.
