I guess you are very familiar with the way how SAP NetWeaver Gateway works and simplifies the access to data coming from SAP backend systems. If you followed the coverage from TechEd Las Vegas you could already see quite a lot of examples where NetWeaver Gateway is being used.

One of the consumers that come into mind right away are obviously the different Microsoft products and technologies. Ranging from a custom developed project in Visual Studio to the native OData consumption in Excel 2010. There are plenty of possibilities to integrate SAP data in Microsoft products via NetWeaver Gateway.

  • Duet Enterprise is certainly one very popular example how NetWeaver Gateway can be used to consume data in SharePoint 2010.
  • Microsoft LightSwitch was already demoed at the TechEd North America 2012 keynote and showed how NetWeaver Gateway OData feeds can easily be consumed.
  • OData clients are available for Windows Phone
  • And we are very happy that at the InnoJam in Madrid Microsoft will provide us with Windows 8 devices and show us how to consume NetWeaver Gateway's OData feeds within Windows 8 applications.

Well, what I am trying to say: if you have any ideas of what we could do better, where we could improve, how we could simplify the integration for you, please head over to the SAP NetWeaver Gateway Idea Session and submit your ideas.

We are also currently starting a customer engagement initiative for Duet Enterprise & Beyond. So if you want to know more and influence where Duet Enterprise is going, please take a look here.

Hope to hear from you!
