Data Geek Challenge – My Entry
For my entry I tried a static replication of one of Hans Rosling’s data visualization from gapminder.org . He is one my heroes in data visualization and I refer to his works constantly on the need for animated visualizations.
In this example I have taken a static comparison of the CO2 emissions per person and compared it to the per capita income for all the countries and have the total population as the size of my bubble for the year 2010.
I like using a scatter chart for this kind of analysis as it provides a whole bunch of parameters like size, color, type etc to convey different measures on the same chart and provides for an easy understanding using a great visual.
