Benefit of Embedded Analytics with Crystal Reports – Renaming Fields to help Report Consumers

Here is familiar KSB1, cost center report for managers:

As a cost center manager, would “Aux. acct assignment_1” mean anything to you?  “Val.in rep.cur” column?  So I change the view to Crystal Reports (note you must be on enhancement package 5 and configure this setting)

I export this to Crystal

Then I open Crystal Reports 2011 (note this will NOT work with Crystal Reports for Enterprise)

So I change the auxiliary account assignment to “Order” and the “Val in rep cur” to Amount

I save the file, and now I need to upload to ERP/ECC

Save the ALV layout

Put the layout in your entry screen so it defaults to your Crystal Report

So the report is run via the transaction (KSB1) it will default to Crystal Reports with columns that the cost center manager will understand
