3 Fundamental Trends – Data, Decisions, Devices

Data, data, data coming out of our ears with an increasing number of decision points within integrated business processes all happening on a deluge of new device and application capabilities.  Ouch…hurts my head! But, what an exciting time to be in technology and to work at or with SAP. Companies need a framework to make sense of all this.

My sense is that we’re well into these trends now, so these three trends should be no surprise to most reading this blog. That being said, how are we getting on managing these as they expand and grow exponentially?

      Thanks for the post.

“Data”, “Decisions” and “Devices” are indeed appropriate labels to summarize the three trends in Enterprise IT.

All the buzz around these three trends is also generating a renewed interest in the core SAP solutions.  One example is the heightened customer interest following SAP’s acquisition of SuccessFactors and Ariba, major players in Cloud based HCM and Procurement solutions respectively.  Recently, I attended an ASUG webinar on SAP’s product strategy in the aftermath of Ariba acquisition.  One of the cornerstones of this new (and still evolving) strategy is leveraging SAP technologies- enterprise mobility, analytics, in-memory computing, in Ariba’s Cloud applications and Network solutions.

As you point out, these are exciting times to work at or with SAP!

      Best regards,

      Anil
