NWBC Sessions at TechEd 2012

Hi everyone,

I know this is really short notice, but if any of you are going to TechEd next week (or Madrid/Bangalore later), we’ve planned a number of sessions and events that may be of interest:

CD262: “Structuring a User’s Workplace with SAP NetWeaver Business Client” (2 hours hands-on)

The SAP NetWeaver Business Client (NWBC) for Desktop together with its WebAS ABAP backbone offers a variety of functions to tailor the front end/client and contents to your company’s and users’ needs. In this hands-on session you learn how to unleash the full potential of NWBC. You have the opportunity to design navigation structures in Role Maintenance (PFCG) with the focus on NWBC-specific attributes and merging of roles, as well as integrating home pages and side panel content. You then learn how to customize branding, menus, and search functionality. Finally, you find out how to create and deploy NWBC settings.

CD263:  “Extending SAP NetWeaver Business Client with the Side Panel” (2 hours hands-on)

The new SAP NetWeaver Business Client side panel is an efficient approach in extending existing SAP GUI (or Web Dynpro ABAP) transactions with additional content, without requiring modifications to the existing transaction. In this hands-on session, quick overviews will be given of how the side panel can be used in different contexts, the number of gadgets available, and best-practice approaches for configuring new side panels for existing transactions.

TEC212: “Lessons Learned: Migrating from SAPGUI to SAP NWBC” (Brown Forman, ASUG Member)

TechEd Madrid only: CD112 “Customer Project: The SAP NetWeaver Business Client in Practice” with HELLA (1 hour lecture)

Hella, a global company in the automotive industry, established SAP Product Lifecycle Management (SAP PLM) as one central system used by 6,000 users all over the world more than ten years ago.
In this lecture, you will hear how and why they chose SAP NetWeaver Business Client as a new user interface in SAP PLM 7. They will also talk about the lessons learned in the implementation and operation phases of their project. SAP NetWeaver Business Client is a single point of entry to SAP applications. This software can host applications based on SAP GUI and Web Dynpro and display additional content in the new side panel.
