Today, we are moving to a mobile-oreinted wold. According to the infographic created by SAP Mobile Team, over 1.19 billion workers (around 34.9% of the global workforce) will use mobile technology by 2013 and 82 million people will use tablets by 2015. People see mobile as a new desktop, a preferred way to deal with information. With this change, Sanjay Poonen, president and corporate officer for SAP Global Solutions, blogged about his vision of the future where alarm clocks and calendars and coffee machines all talk to each other. In his post, he mentioned that it is a future where the Internet of Things (IoTs) and Machine-to-Machine (M2M) conversations are the social network of machine and man, making our lives more easier and productive. In addition, companies with mobile solutions have the ability to stream back a large amount of data to shorten sales cycles and respond to market needs faster.

Bill joined SAP as Global Vice President, Mobile Strategy, in August 2012 from Gartner. At Gartner, Bill was a Research Vice President, responsible for Enterprise mobility strategies, Mobile Applications, Mobile Application Development, and Context Aware Computing. Bill received a Gartner Global Thought Leadership Award for his research on Context Aware Computing in January 2009, and was nominated for Global Analyst of the Year for 2010.
