We all know that SAP is big on Innovation and always encourages its employees to innovate. So how does innovation really occur? I feel one of the key ingredient in innovation is the four letter word “Idea” .Here is a famous quote from Buddhism on idea “An idea that is developed and put into action is more important than an idea that exists only as an idea” and that is exactly what we are trying to do we plan to do, we hope to put your ideas into action.

Our current SAP Idea Place is soon going to be revamped with a brand new platform provided by BrightIdea which consists of some really cool Facebook type features not just for users but also for us admins which will help us to keep track of the ideas in an organized and timely manner. Also these ideas will be tracked on a regular basis and the top ones will be selected during the quarterly product planning cycle and added to the product backlog. This site is active and can be accessed by clicking here or the image below.

SAP NetWeaver Gateway would be the first product to be incorporated in the new Idea Place. Some of you might already be aware of this product but for those who aren’t it is a unique framework that enables development of people centric solutions which bring the power of SAP business software into new experiences such as social and collaboration environments, mobile and tablet devices and rich internet applications. By leveraging REST services and Data/ATOM protocols it offers connectivity to SAP applications using any programming language or model without the need for SAP knowledge. (For more info on the product visit our SCN or Youtube channels). The SAP NetWeaver Gateway solution and product management teams are currently looking for ideas revolving around the following four areas:

  • What  enhancements do you suggest for the SAP NetWeaver Gateway?

  • What use cases and pain points can be addressed by SAP NetWeaver Gateway?

  • Any integration scenarios with Microsoft technologies powered by SAP NetWeaver Gateway (excluding Duet Enterprise)?

  • Any demo scenarios that will best showcase the SAP NetWeaver Gateway product?

Now that you know a little bit about the product, the type of ideas we are looking for and the review process we intend on following. I would  highly encourage you come to visit the SAP NetWeaver Gateway Idea Place submit ideas that you feel could improve the product since your feedback or thoughts are highly essential in this development process. Thank you!
