This Tuesday and Wednesday Oct 2-3 2012, SAP will be exhibiting and speaking at the European Apps World 2012 event in London's Earls Court 2. In fact SAP is one of the Platinum Sponsors of this event that should see over 6000 European Mobile Developers, Mobile Marketers, Mobile Operators, Device Manufacturers and Industry Professionals descend into the capital of the UK.

Now in its3rd year, Apps World has grown to be one of the leading multi-platform events in the Mobile Industry and, during the two-day event,  Now "It's the Enterprise Time for mobile developers” and SAP can show how it is ready to help meet the need of the developer, just as I mentioned in one of my last few articles… Creating the Masters of the Mobile Enteprise. SAP can help by getting  developers up and running, fast learning the SAP Mobile platform,  an open application platform for developing multi-OS mobile apps for the Enterprise. Developers can also gain access to a number of other things… SAP’s mobile SDK, a 30 day cloud-based environment for Mobile Development and beyond that a free developer licences on AWS. You would think that’s enough but SAP go that extra mile, with support through the SAP Mobile Apps Partner Program and even the SAP Store to help developers bring Enterprise Apps to the SAP Market.

I would really urge you and your development teams to come along to Booth #128 and speak to our staff on the Developer Pod, Enterprise Pod and Test Drive Pod. Also make sure that you catch our presentations and Panel Sessions, during the event.

On Tuesday at 09:10 am Adrian Simpson, Chief Innovation Officer, UKI  will be discussing on the Apps & Enterprise Panel, App usage in the Enterprise. There are many challenges in introducing apps for the enterprise and Adrian will speak about: What benefits do Enterprise Mobile Apps present? He will also suggest how to make the right App Choices for your business and what investment is needed? Then again at 11:50 Adrian will present a Workshop that poses the question of ‘When There is NOT an APP for That’.

On the same day, I will be presenting at 11:40am in the Developer Keynote area. During the 30 minutes I will give an overview on the SAP Mobile Platform, Developer & Partner Programs and the SAP Store. I was once a developer myself tasked with trying out new technologies and creating proof of concepts, to investigate future possibilities. So I know how fraught the process can be of gathering all the initial information, to get you off the starting line and up to speed as fast as possible. So my aim is to prime you in developing Mobile Apps for the Enterprise with SAP Mobile Solutions and it will probably leave your head spinning, but I will make myself available for questions later at the SAP booth, as will all the other SAP speakers!

In the afternoon at 2:00pm Pierre-Alain Bouchard will be rounding off a packed day of SAP content at Apps World, by presenting a Technical Briefing on Developing Enterprise Scale Mobile Apps with the SAP Mobile Platform. Whether your development is needed just for one specific Mobile OS , or needs to be available on as many devices as possible, Pierre’s briefing will contain information on the hot subjects of how we can develop native apps or HTML5 apps, with the SAP Hybrid Web container (HWC). The HWC will be of real interest to your existing Web Developers and interestingly our partners Appcelerator and Sencha will also be in the exhibition hall, so check out their integration with the SAP Mobile Platform.

I personally believe there is a great opportunity for existing developers whom have already mastered the consumer market and delivered to the consumer the experience that Enterprise users now expect. Though this opportunity is valid as long as these developers are aware of the differences of Consumer App vs Enterprise App. So, Wednesday starts with just as interesting content as day #1, with another presentation at 10:10am in the Developer Keynote Theater with Jim Jaquet & Dan McNamara. They will be joining the Enterprise Apps Panel to explore the opportunities I just mentioned, for developers in the Enterprise Apps Market.

For the Enterprise now, it’s all about the Apps! These Apps need to be designed  to meet specific needs of Information Workers, giving them access to their corporate data when & where they need it.  This in turn helps the user make important business decisions on the road, decisions that can give them competitive advantage. Later on day #2, at 2:40pm David Brutman, Senior Director within the Developer relations Team will showcase 5 such innovative Mobile Enterprise Apps built with the SAP Mobile Platform.

Hopefully I have given you enough information now, to make you interested in coming down to Earls Court in London and check out how SAP can make you ‘Run like never before… on Mobile’. If you haven’t already registered for you free Exhibition pass, do it NOW by visiting  http://www.apps-world.net/europe and get yourself along to meet and discuss Enterprise Mobile App Development with the Team from SAP.I know we will all be happy to spend time informing you of what we can do.

If you can’t attend, check out the tweets from the two days using the hash tags #SAP #Appsworld. Also take some time to view http://developer.sap.com/mobile for the Developer Program.
