I'm back in to a routine again (well sort of), and decided I needed to make the time to share my reflections on this year's SAP BusinessObjects User Conference.

Apologies if this is a bit late, but better late than never! ( At least I hope you think so  )

Let me start by saying the ASUG Community puts on a great event!

This was my first year attending the conference, and it was an absolutely amazing event.  ASUG did a great job in preparing conference attendees by adding a mobile app that allowed you to stay up to date with keynotes/changes in presentations/important information, sign up for sessions you were interested in, take and share pictures, and connect with colleagues.  The keynotes were entertaining and educational. I particularly enjoyed the "Back to the Future" spoof done by John Schweitzer aka Marty and Adam Binnie aka Doc.

There was also a fantastic partner showcase set up in the middle of the event where you could go and speak to various SAP partners or SAP employees.  ASUG TV was located here, and I got the chance to view a number of wonderful sessions with people from  ASUG and SAP.   SAP Support ( christopher.vozella, neil.greathead, and kristen.scheffler) also had some time with Courtney Bjorlin.  Thanks Courtney!

This was also the first year for ASUG's Developer Wars!  What an amazing showing by the best of the best.  These volunteers dedicated their time, skills, and expertise to help Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.  WELL DONE!

The best part of the conference for me was meeting and talking to so many SAP customers.  I was invited to the Influence Council session on Sunday, and it was an open, honest, respectful collaboration between all of us.  It was great to be a part of that, to engage and talk about what is working and what needs to improve.  We came away with some great messages and focus areas for 2013 and beyond.

We held some presentations at the conference and received great feedback from the attendees in the sessions.  Again, open and honest discussions which is exactly what we want!

Walking around the Partner showcase allowed me to connect with a number of customers, some of which I had spoken to or emailed, but never met in person, and others who are now new connections.  It's events like these that give you amazing opportunities to connect.  Once again, thank you ASUG!

So what were my key takeaways from this year's conference?  Check out the video below to hear my '3 C's'

Thank you to ASUG and our customers for a wonderful time.  See you in Cali next year?
