Successful SAP Academic Conference EMEA in Dresden/Germany
The SAP Academic Conference is the annual meeting for member faculty from all over Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). On September 6-7, nearly 300 attendees from approximately 30 countries were welcomed to Dresden, Germany. Venue for the conference, several training classes, and info sessions was the Technical University, and the SAP Research location. Professors and lecturers discussed new topics on teaching and research with SAP software. Focus was SAP HANA, and the region CEE. During the event CPUT, South Africa and the University of Brandenburg signed a contract regarding future cooperation. Furthermore the Faculty of Business Studies, Slovenia and the University of Aarhus signed the contract and will use SAP in teaching in future. The next academic conference in EMEA region will take place in Munich in September 2013.
In addition to the Academic Conference and the evening reception, several trainings from the University Alliances training season were held at the Technical University in Dresden. This included the courses SAP Business ByDesign, SAP ERP Configuration, SAP CRM Introduction, SAP BW 7.3 + SAP BO 4.0 News, and GBI – Global Bike Incorporated.
A pre-conference program was also offered. This included a guided tour through the SAP Research Future Factory combined with two presentations on SAP HANA as well as three break-out sessions. 31 persons attended the information session at SAP Research and in total 60 persons participated at the break-out sessions on SAP HANA, Sybase, and SAP Composite Application Framework.
