Wrap-up of Duet Enterprise Velocity Event 2012 in Walldorf

As you probably have heard we held our velocity event for Duet Enterprise in Walldorf last week. It was again a great event — I would even say the best so far. Although we had increased the capacity compared to previous events we unfortunately had to reject some customers with their partners. We just didn’t have enough rooms and resources to ensure a good enough support.

For all of the rejected customers — and those who are interested — I would recommend to keep an eye out for our next event announcement.

Based on a lot of feedback we did change a few things in this event compared to the last times, which turned out to be a huge success:

  • First of all we started with an online training. The week before the event, every day SAP and Microsoft experts hosted an online webinar and interacted / trained the participants for a few hours. After that the participants could work on exercises and were again supported by the experts
  • The first three days of the actual event hosted in Walldorf concentrated on Duet Enterprise 1.0 Feature Pack 1 and the new enhancements like the OData Channel Support and the new SOAP Bridge. We closely worked with the attending customers and their partners and made sure that remaining landscape questions, development aspects and other questions were answered and resolved.
  • The last two days we did something new: customers had the possibility to work on Duet Enterprise 2.0 for the first time as part of the Duet Enterprise 2.0 Ramp-up program. We were able to install the Duet Enterprise 2.0 components and configure the out of the box scenarios within Thursday and then continue with the connectivity to SharePoint Online and the new development App Model in SharePoint on Friday.

It was great to see what all customers and partners accomplished during this week. Quite a few had already very concrete plans and from what I have seen I know that their scenarios provide very compelling UIs and new user experiences to their employees in the next weeks and months. Their dedication, commitment and interest could be seen every day when they only left the SAP offices long after the provided WLAN access had expired.

So of course we also had some time to enjoy the accomplishments during a great dinner.

Well, it was great to see some “old” faces, get a face to people I had been working with via email for quite some time and of course to meet new customers and partners for the first time.

We are looking forward to working with you (and the next event :-))

Switching off the WLAN was a good thing. Otherwise we would not sleep at all 😉
