The SAP Rapid Deployment Solutions team released a new version of the SAP rapid-deployment solution of side panel content in SAP NetWeaver Business Client. This is an RDS package for UI renovation without rewriting any coding! End users will instantly get new functionality and features for their daily work in the SAP ERP system – on an easy way without any disruption. Key is the usage of the NetWeaver Business Client (NWBC) version 3.5, the content of the SAP Business Suite Foundation 7.31 SP04, and the content delivered with this package. It leverages the side panel functionality to provide a complete new user experience for the SAP ERP business user – without the need of rewriting any of the SAP transaction screens.

The RDS package provides context-related business content and supplementary information taking SAP ERP transactional data to the next level, including master data, analytics and related services.

Users have key business process data at their fingertips for the following areas:

  • Financials
  • Procurement
  • Quality Management
  • Sales & Distribution

Using the flexibility of Web Dynpro Side Panel this is achieved without any additonal code. The user gets layouts and ready-to-use gadgets (SAP CHIPs) like charts, forms, etc. that enhance the context of a transaction. The context is dynamically defined by data currently being processed in the SAP GUI. The data is presented in an easy to consume format which increases user productivity allowing users to make more informed business decisions in their every-day work.

      Hi Patrick,

The link is still working. Reason why you are not able to access it is that unfortunately it's an internal platform only. I apologize for that. Was doing some research today to make it accessible for you and I finally uploaded it into a SAPBox container:

      https://share.sap.com/a:8szcjy/MyAttachments/42dfb7ab-9be8-4add-9459-d2da71eb9cb5/

This is available for you for 30 days. Please let me know in case you have any questions and also check out my colleague Bob's recent blog post:

      Hi Julie,

You are right, this package has been discontinued and the focus is now on new and more Fiori-like RDS packages. I removed the link in the text. Sorry about that. Unfortunately, this one is no longer available.

      Regards,

      FRANK.
