Getting started with HANA at TechCrunch DisruptSF Hackathon

Want to join the 2012 TechCrunch DisruptSF Hackathon challenge?

— Offer valid from September 8th 2012 1:30pm to September 9th 2pm —

Get access to SAP HANA, possibly the worlds fastest relational database (and so much more). SAP HANA has been preloaded with a public 1 million song dataset for you to build creative analytical apps using SQL, modeling techniques, Javascript and maybe even their language of choice (if it’s Python, R, Java, C#).

GET STARTED NOW!

Step 1: Get the tools:

Client drivers (JDBC, Python, etc.):

HANA Studio:

Step 2: Connect to the shared 1TB SAP HANA DB (talk to us at the SAP table if you want to setup your own private SAP HANA DB on AWS):

From the HANA Studio enter: hanasvr-04.sapdevcenter.com system#=00

For user/pwd, ask for one at the SAP table.

How to use the pre-loaded data:

You find the data in a schema called MUSIC which is visible from the HANA studio.

Step 3: What to do with the dataset

Whatever you want, find correlations, visualize it, detect songs.

Impress us with your ideas, algorithms, code, anything, everything!

Coolest idea wins!
