Up to now I have posted two blogs about the Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) processes in the Business Process Repository (BPR) for Product SAP Solution Manager (Blog 1 SAP Solution Manager lightning Application Lifecycle Management , Blog 2 In the Spotlight: ALM Processes Update brought into the Business Process Repository with SAP Solutio...).

Now it's time to write a third blog. SAP Solution Manager SP05 has been released to customers in June, 2012 and Implementation Content for sure should fit to the new features.

Fyi: With ST-ICO SP33, released to customers June 29, 2012 we had a major terminology change: ALM Process Application Incident Management (in the BPR reflected as scenario) has been renamed to IT Service Management.

With ST-ICO SP34, released to customers September 4, 2012 new processes and steps have been added to the structure and new objects assigned reflecting the new features of SAP Solution Manager 7.1 SP05 serving the ALM processes. All existing Implementation Content for SAP Solution Manager has been updated as well.

In the following the major changes are listed accompanied by screenshots:

Change Control Management - Normal Change:

New step Preliminary Import

IT Service Management: New process Service Request,

former Service Request (SAP Engagement and Service Delivery) renamed to Support Request

Business Process Operations - Business Process and Interface Monitoring:
New step Specify and Display Technical Requirements

Updated Object Assignments:

  • Tab General Documentation:
For each scenario, process and step link change to SAP Solution Manager 7.1 SP05 Application Help

  • Tab Transactions:
Assignment of SM_CRM 'Start CRM UI with SSO' as Standard Transaction to Nomal Change, Urgent Change, Defect Correction, Administration Change and General Change (Change Control Management) and to Incident, Problem and Service Request (IT Service Management).

Stay tuned for Implementation Content Updates for ALM blending well with new SAP Solution Manager versions!
