at the moment I test the ActiveX controls from the SAP GUI for Windows 7.30. I noticed that the version number of the Classic RFC SDK libraries are also 7.30, but I heard the development was discontinued. If anyone knows anything about it…
What me really concerns is the following error when calling the FM RFC_SYSTEM_INFO with the unicode version of the ActiveX library:
Creating Structure table name = RFCSI parameter = RFCSI_EXPORT
ControlStructure: Create failed to create column information structure!
Failed to create Structure while constructing Function object.
The source works with the ANSI version fine and with the unicode version of SAP GUI for Windows 7.20 also fine. I suspect an incompatibility between Classic SAP RFC SDK and Microsoft Visual C++ runtime environment 10, because an other language gets the error
Exception Generic Microsoft Visual C++ error code &HE06D7363
Severity Error Error Code &HE06D7363
Conclusion: Anyone who uses the unicode ActiveX controls should remain in version 7.20.
