Changing File Repository Server for SAP BI 4.0 on windows

Create share location on network to configure this prior you start changing File Repository Server

Note : Make sure you copy existing local Files from file repository to share location before any change. (Example: E:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\FileStore)

Login to CMC through http://hostname:Port:/BOE/CMC as Administrator

Open Servers

Navigate to Service Categories >> Core Services

You will find 4 Server for two BI systems and two for one BI system

Open Servername.InputFileRepository by double-clicking on it you will see default settings under Input Filestore Service as below

Change location of ‘File Store Directory’ and ‘Temporary Directory’

Example Path:

File Store Directory    : \\Share Location\BI\FileStore\Input

Temporary Directory     : \\Share Location\BI\FileStore\Input\temp

Open Servername.OutputFileRepository by double-clicking on it you will see default settings under Input Filestore Service as below

Change location of ‘File Store Directory’ and ‘Temporary Directory’

Example Path

File Store Directory    : \\Share Location\BI\FileStore\Output

Temporary Directory     : \\Share Location\BI\FileStore\Output\temp

Save and close button

You will see red flags under Stale column.

Select the marked server with red flag and press restart server

      An easier way would be to update the placeholder values on the nodes, whereby you could leave the locations in the FRS properties to %DefaultFRS...%.

      Actually, this doesn't seem to be possible. The FRS locations are not part of the placeholders available for editing.
