If there is huge volume of data in particular Cube or DSO , it need to be archived in order to enhance the query reporting performance.

Once the data from Cube or DSO is archived , the archived data has to be in some other database(for e.g- Near line storage) rather than in BW database , the archived data needs to be deleted from Cube or DSO i.e Bw Database.

the configuration of dimension tables in relation to fact table is called as star schema.  Dimension tables should be sized less than 10% of the fact table.

its recommended to have many smaller dimensiions as compared to few large dimensions.

Proper load balancing .i.e distribution of loads on various servers enhances the performances and reduces the bottleneck due to excess of load on any particluar server. e.g. we can assign various tasks on different servers.e.g  Data staging via XML over HTTP/SOAP,data Load in BW, extraction , process chain , ODS Activation , Distribution of web user, Cube rollups. etc all the mentioned tasks can be assigned in the diff servers as per load balance.

if aggregates contains the navigational attribute a change run must be scheduled every time this master data is loaded.

In sap we can find out the traces and logs. this will help in monitoring and finding the error in system. eg. of traces are

RSSMTARCE – authorization check log.

RSRTRACE – User Trace

SE30 – ABAP Trace

ST05 – SQL Trace
