Hi Everyone,
I m not able to import tables from database in my universe. When I write click on the universe pan and click on tables nothing happens i.e. I do not see the database table list.Backend database is SQL.
Can anyone help me in this regard as soon as possible.
Regards,
Neeraj
Hi Neeraj,
Does the list not show up or is the list empty? Does it work with other database types (MS Access for example)? Are you able to successfully test connectivity to the database in the universe designer? Try using both ODBC and OLEDB with SQL and see if it makes a difference.
Thanks,
John

Hi Neeraj,
If the window isn’t showing up at all then it would seem there is a problem perhaps at the binary level. Has this machine ever worked? Have you put any patches on recently or anything else changed?
Thanks,
John
My wild guess:
At one point you had two monitors, now you only have one. The list is popping up on some invisible monitor.
If this could be right, plug in a second monitor and see if it shows up.
Neeraj,
Did you check if the tables window is minimized at the bottom left in your Designer window?
Thanks!
Neeraj,
Can you check if the user with which you have created the ODBC has any tables. Try logging into the DB with that user credentials and see if there any tables.
Thanks
Hi David,
Actually I m working on virtual(client) machine and I have only one machine.

Hi Aris,
Its not there.

Hi Raghu,
Actually someone else has created the universe and I don’t have the database credentials.

Hi Neeraj,
I think you should check with your DBA to see if that particular DBuser has any tables owned by him. If there are no tables, then its obvious that the in designer you wont see any tables.
Thanks
Raghu
Hi Everyone,
I solved the issue by changing the co-ordinates of window placement in regedit\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\BUSINESSOBJECTS\APPLICATION PREFERENCES\BUSINESSDESIGNER\DESIGNER\DSGN TABLE BROWSER
Thanks guys for your inputs.

Neeraj
