Call to Action – Improvements to the SCN Site

Everybody on the SCN Team wants our site to be the best possible.  Oxana Noa Zubarev and I have been assigned the responsibility of organizing the suggestions so changes can be made to SCN.

There is one area to put in your suggestions or to vote on existing suggestions: SAP Community Network Improvements.

In SAP Community Network Improvements, you should search to see if somebody has already made that suggestion…If they have, you should vote for it.  If you don’t find it, please enter a new “idea”.  Every suggestion should be entered as a separate “idea”…Bundled suggestions need to be broken up into separate “ideas” so they can be acted upon.

The items in SAP Community Network Improvements that get the most attention are the items with the most votes.  The first question usually asked by the SCN Team during our weekly review sessions is how many votes does a suggestion have.  In other words, it is extremely important that you vote for the features you want.

Reading though other blogs and discussions, I see suggestions about SCN.  Although valuable information, it isn’t being captured in a way that the community can vote and act on your suggestion.  Please add them in SAP Community Network Improvements.

If you have any comments or questions, you can add to this blog or direct message me.

It would be helpful if there was a prominent link to Idea Place from the SCN home page and a prominent link to the SCN improvement suggestions at least on all the 'About SCN' pages.

Also I've noticed several ideas (here is one example) that should actually be considered bug fixes because this functionality did exist on SCN before the migration. It might be a good idea to get a second look at the bugs already reported on SCN, it seems that some might have fallen between the cracks.

Good suggestion....I will bring it up in our next weekly meeting of priorities.

In the mean time, I have added some additional tags to the blog so it appears in more of the related content area.

It is already on the following pages:

Just came across my own bug report posted back in March. 'Failed to search properly' was listed as a reason in abuse reports on the old web site, but now it's missing. We had to do the whole campaign to get this option on the old site, can't believe we're back to square one.

Just wanted to highlight once again that it would be nice to get back things that were already available on the old site but were lost in migration.
