BusinessObjects Design Studio aka SAP Zen – Edit Initial View

Edit Initial View feature allows you to add dimensions and measures without having to go back to the BEx Query.  Additionally it will allow you change the  display keys and members and format the numbers.  This document focuses on the members.  See below

Right click on the BEx Query (my case, ZPS_CASH) and select Edit Initial View

In my query, I am displaying the text of the project

Right click on InfoObject Project (ZPROJ) and the following context menu appears:

I select Key and Text

Now the InfoObject’s key and text appears

Right click again on InfoObject and it will show you more options as shown below

With Member Access Mode, you can show posted values or master data (includes posted and unposted values).

Also notice you can filter the members, and filter by InputString (I haven’t figured that one out yet).

More to come, but the Edit Initial View is a nice feature to BusinessObjects Design Studio as it saves you from having to go back to format the BEx Query.
