SOST error and fix

Hi All,

This is my first blog and would like to share an error and solution related to SOST. We were seeing error messages in SOST . Mails were sent from SAP but they were not received by the recipient. The indication was grey in SOST instead of green and error code was XS718. The information from system was recipient valid, delivery attempted as below

Solution :

Go to SCOT and change from SAPconnect expects receipt confirmation for Internet mail to SAPconnect does not expects receipt confirmation for Internet mail as below. This fixed the issue and we were able to receive mails from SAP.

      Hi Ranjith,

      We are using ECC 6 EHP 6. we are the same above issue(We are seeing error messages in SOST . Mails were sent from SAP but they were not received by the recipient. The indication was grey in SOST instead of green and error code was XS718.)

      The confirmation of receipt option not there in our SAP ECC 6. what to do next. please help us.

      Hi Vijayakumar,

      try enabling it. also did you maintain smtp parameter in the profile and also check smtp service is running in smicm,

      we have enabled it and also maintaining smtp parameter. the smtp services running , But Still issue is same.

      Is it only for that particular email id? did you try sending email to your id?

      yes, i tried to send mail to my id. this also same status.

      Hi Vijaya,

      please check with your mail administrator whether there is relay between sap server and mail server. they might be able to find logs in mail server. also you can enable tracing in scot to find the errors.

      My issue is solved. actually not mentioned source email id in su01. Once it set, email successfully received from sap.

      Hi VijayaKumar,

      Thank  you for letting us know that issue is fixed. su01 is one of the basic setting to trigger mails from SAP.

      Hi Ranjith,

      It's great to see new bloggers around, I do have 2 comments for you.

      First: Please be extensive when writting about the scenario, the error itself and the solution. Lack of detail may make a blog misleading and/or reduce its quality.

      Second: When creating screenshots please crop the images to a readable size, a good way to do this is to use Alt+Print_Screen and then paste/crop and modify on an image editor (like paint).

      Hello Ranjith,

      we are on SAP_BASIS 731 08 (SAPKB73108) and even if I go into the classic node maintenance I can't see this point "SAPconnect expects receipt confirmation for Internet mail".

      So where is the maintenance of this point now?

      Background is that we have different behaviour of SCOT / SOST. One user gets an errormessage if sending mail to a wrong emailaddress. Another user doesn't get a notification.

      In Our SAP system also we are facing same issue,As we getting Delivery Info Because of above setting you have mentioned.

      Could you Please share with me how that setting you able to change.

      In your screen shots,You have not mentioned Properly ,Could you share steps in detail

      Hi Ranjith,

       

      We are experiencing the same error XS718 after our Kernel update in SAP Hana Prod Linux server

       

      I am unable to find the dialog box you are showing in your solution in SCOT or SCON.

      Doubt: but in your solution you say Go to SCOT and change from SAPconnect expects receipt confirmation for Internet mail to SAPconnect does not expects receipt confirmation for Internet mail

      But the screen in the background is SCON transaction if I am not wrong.

       

      Could you please guide me in which transaction (SCOT or SCON) we can find that dialogue box and what are the options we have to choose.

       

      I can understand this blog or discussion was started long back but Could you please respond as soon as possible as it is a P1 ticket in my queue.
