OK - the cloud looks interesting, now what?

You’ve probably already heard the standard cloud pitch – lower TCO, less burden on IT resources, access anywhere, etc. But nearly every imaginable business application now exists in the cloud. So if you’re sold on SaaS for your delivery model, how do you “choose your cloud?”

Whoever you choose, first, you need to look hard at the architecture. The architecture contains some of the key drivers like security and integration, and don’t forget that all of the benefits of SaaS come with risks. You’re moving data off of your servers and trusting 3^rd party vendors with your company information. And if we’re talking HR data, the consequences of losing or leaking sensitive employee information could be crippling. But it’s not just about security. Things like uptime, integration, and scalability are some of the other key business drivers that will become the responsibility of your cloud vendors.
