In 2011 we’ve had an awesome SAP InnoJam in Sydney. For the first time we’ve brought a HANA server to the participants that they could use and even touch. The summary video below shows within 5 minutes what the event was about and what the participants thought about it.
This time we have another first in Australia at an InnoJam: for the first time we’ll use Design Thinking methodology at an SAP external InnoJam in Australia. In a nutshell this methodology helps to ensure that the apps developed help people to accomplish their tasks.
We compressed the Design Thinking exercise to make it fit into the SAP InnoJam event format and tested it out at the SAP internal DKOMs 2012 in Palo Alto, St. Leon Rot and Bangalore. We were so amazed about the results that we decided to bring this methodology also to the SAP external InnoJams this year. And the first one in the row is actually the InnoJam in Melbourne, happening from August 19th – 20th.
As a result of bringing in Design Thinking to the InnoJams we’ll switch from business scenarios provided by the participants to a theme topic that we bring to the event. This theme will drill down to specific challenges that the teams can work on.
In Melbourne the theme will be around finding possibilities to help fight bushfires.
This year’s InnoJam in Australia will happen at the Victoria University in Melbourne where the SAP Mentor Paul Hawking works. Paul was so kind to organize the venue for our InnoJam in Melbourne on the campus of his working place. Thanks a lot Paul!
From a technology point of view we’ll provide you with interesting technologies like SAP NetWeaver Cloud, SAP NetWeaver Gateway, HANA, SAPUI5 and Sybase PowerBuilder.
