Try the SAP Portal Mobile App Catalog

Inspired by the Portal on Device project, Mindset Consulting created a simplified mobile app for the SAP Portal, the Portal App Catalog.

The Portal on Device has a lot of features, but more features than I wanted to use:

• Favorites
• Content Search
• Home Page
• More Apps
• Settings

I also found it particularly difficult to get the project started with related class files, and also to handle the customizations. Also, we didn't have Netweaver 7.3 and I wanted an app that worked with anything Netweaver 7.0 or higher.

The Mindset Consulting App Catalog is a little simpler. We search iViews in the Portal that are tagged mobile and your user has access to. We then create list with the title, description, and a link to the apps. In our broader mobile solution, these link to Mobile Light applications on each backend system, such as Sales in SD, or HR, or MM, or various workflow applications. You can administer the application like any other set of iViews in the Portal.
