Experience with SAP Visual Intelligence – Version 1.0.1 is Released
Last week, Jason Rose and Manikandan Srinivasan provided a webcast on SAP Visual Intelligence. Here is the link to the PDF of the presentation and a link to the replay. This week, version 1.0.1 was just released. What is new in Version 1.0.1? This slide from last week’s webcast shows what is included in 1.0.1:

In version 1.01 you have the following features:
- Ability to use .CSV as a data source
- Ability to use Excel as a data source
- For StreamWork integration you need the SAP StreamWork Enterprise license
Experiences:
- Installs quickly and you can use it in less than 10 minutes
- You need a 64 bit machine
- Easy to get started
Here is the initial screen:

At the bottom right of Figure 2 you see links to the social sites. Twitter takes you to @businessobjects
In the bottom middle are links to the tutorials by @SAP_Learn_BI product team.
At the lower left of Figure 2 is the help. Talk to the community of experts takes you to the SCN BusinessObjects Explorer space

I followed the initial screen steps and double clicked on the eFashion sample shown in Figure 3

Now you click “Acquire” to load the data

In Figure 5 it shows 5 semantic elements. At first I didn’t know what that meant, but when you click on it you appreciate what it does for your visualization document.

Semantic enrichment turned the attributes into measures, which allows for calculations, etc.

When you click Visualize it displays a graph and you drag over the measures to the axes

Figure 8 shows another map visualization
