Standard SAP allows us to delete the GL account for inactive Chart of Account. But sometimes due to some requirement, we need to delete the GL account whose Chart of Accout is active and its not possible to temporarily deactivate the Chart of Account. In such scenario, follow steps can be followed to delete the GL account. (Kindly note that GL accout can be deleted only if there is no posting in GL account and its relevant cost center.)
I. Delete the Cost elements relevant to that GL.
II. Update the Mark for deletion flag in GL at Company Code as well as COA level.
III. Archive the GL account at Co Code level (Archiving Object FI_Account)
IV. Delete the archive file created above.
V. Archive the GL at COA level
VI. Delete the above arhive file.
