STMS – Import Transports in exact order using a spreadsheet

Scenario:

You wish to import a large list of transports in an exact order into your system.

Create a spreadsheet

List the transports in column A

In column B enter the following formula

=”echo ‘Importing “&A1&” into <SID>’;”&”tp pf=/usr/sap/transAUS/bin/TP_DOMAIN_AUS.PFL addtobuffer “&A1&” <SID> client=<CLIENT>;”&”tp pf=/usr/sap/trans/bin/TP_DOMAIN_<SID>.PFL import “&A1&” <SID> U0126 client=<CLIENT>;”

Edit the formula:

a) Replace <SID> with your SAP System ID

b) Replace <CLIENT> with your target client.

Note if you only have one client in this system you may wish to remove the section client=<CLIENT> from the script.

Copy column B into notepad and save it as either a .sh script for unix or a .bat file for windows

Upload the file to your SAP server under /usr/sap/trans/bin

To run the script do the following:

Windows:

Execute the bat file from the /usr/sap/trans/bin directory

Unix:

Execute the script from the /usr/sap/trans/bin directory

./QASTransportList.sh < ./QASImport.log
