How to add Author information in Google search results
My shortes blog post ever…
What I’m talking about
Last year Google launched a pilot phase of its Author Information program to get more enhanced listings in the search results.
Does it also work with our SCN blog posts? I tried and here is the result:
How to set up
A “real” setup is not required. First of all you need a Google+ account. Go to your Google+ homepage (your profile page, in my case https://plus.google.com/u/0/112106381380803627368/posts) and copy the numeric value.
Build a proper URL and add “?rel=author” to it -> https://plus.google.com/112106381380803627368?rel=author . Now you only have to add a link somewhere within your blog post (e.g. a contact information like mine at the end of this blog) and that’s it.
It doesn’t work with your blog post?
Patience. The result has no immediate effect on the Google search, you have to wait around one week until Google crawled your blog (again).
And: “Google doesn’t guarantee to show author information in Google Web Search or Google News results.” Currently only one of my modified blogs shows the author information in the search result.
Very useful,
I will try it!
Thanks try this as well
