SuccessFactors – we just love talking about it – but where?
Hello Gurus,
(I’m wondering if that’s got someone’s attention at least 😉 )
Stranger Danger!
You may have noticed something happening to your beloved SAP HCM area in SCN.
Yep – the SuccessFactors craze is hitting hard. Three of the last four blogs in the space were to do with SuccessFactors, add this one and it will make 4/5.
Someone Stop Them
Well – that’s got to stop – I mean we can’t all go about pretending that the cloud revolution isn’t happening if people keep on talking about it! So I suggest that we sand-box those people.
A special area so that they don’t disturb the rest of us sounds like a great idea.
To that extent I have created a “Idea Place” – check it out it’s the link at the bottom right of all the menu links at the top of your screen – idea.
to be extra nice – here is the link – Create SuccessFactors specific area on SCN under HCM
Please feel free to visit and vote it up to get rid of all of these annoying SuccessFactors blogs from the main HCM area,
It might even help you avoid those SuccessFactors blogs by Luke Marson too (as he puts them under Cloud Computing – doubling your risk of exposure.)
And Dear Gurus,
Thank you for your time.
This post should be in no way considered indicative or representative of my company. Blah blah blah. My own foolishness is my own. And much as I try to uphold the standards associated with being a SAP Mentor – sometime it’s just more fun to be a little silly. Thanks for reading, and please do take the time to vote/comment in the idea place idea.
Good work Chris. Soon enough they'll put a stop to our randomly placed SuccessFactors blatherings! 🙂
You got my attention 😏
How did you ever guess I might be hinting at you 😆
It was either that or try to get a rise out of John Moy (hope that's the right one I've just linked to). for corrupting his statistics. Either which way I hope it encourages a few people to click on the idea place link to show SCN and SuccessFactors that we are interested enough to want to play properly in this space.
I propose we talk about successfactors at the bar...
Nah...
When at the bar, no work talk, only sports/women/cars-talk
Tom - you're in danger of getting a Male Gaze on!
I'm quite happy to talk SuccessFactors at the bar - just no-one wants to listen, so on to the merits of hand-pulled beer it is...
Intentionally so 🙂
That's one thing I've always missed on TechEd: Beer! (yes, wine too)
RedMonk found that hole in the market with their monkigrass convention
I've talking to a few people at SuccessConnect. Things are happening, but the SCN side of things is not there. Once it is, we can begin collaborating with the SuccessFactors community.
SuccessFactors seem to be engaged with the idea, we just need someone at SAP or SCN to take hold of and drive this initiative. I am going to try and challenge some people to do it.
Hi all,
I am working with SuccessFactors team to determine how best to get this space launched in the overall SAP Cloud hierarchy. I expect to have specific updates early next week. I will add another comment at that time and maybe followup with a conference call for anyone interested in contributing ideas/suggestions to help with the launch and its awareness.
Hi Siva,
That's awesome news. And thanks for taking the time to respond to the blog.
Looking forward to hearing more. I would be very interested in joining a conference call/web meet to discuss.
I hope that SuccessFactors does not get pushed out and away from the HCM space in SCN. There is a clear reason that Jarret and I have been posting here rather than with Luke over in Cloud Computing. Because SAP has (hugely reduced version) said that there will be no more R&D investment in onPrem talent, it almost occurs that SuccessFactors is the natural successor to inherit the space - not be pushed somewhere else in SCN. Many who work in HCM will want to follow the SuccessFactors posts and we don't want to encourage cross-posting.
I'd rather see a tree
HCM/People
---> On Prem
---> Cloud
than
OnPrem
--> HCM
Cloud
-->People
But then perhaps that doesn't represent the SAP organisational separation - which is much more like the second.
Any which way, please keep in touch, let us know if there is anything we can do to contribute/help.
Cheers,
Chris
PS I posted your reply to the Idea Place Idea too.
as of this post, 5 of the last 6 blogs in this space (hcm) concern SuccesFactors. I hope the sheer volume will soon become hard to ignore if nothing else!
I was finally able to locate a SuccessFactors individual who can help and develop this space. I plan to set up a call next week to discuss th eidea in detail and plan its implementation with all key parties.
Luke and Chris: Please send me (siva.darivemula@sap.com) your email addresses so I can email you an invitation. It'll be an early morning Calif time acll since Luke is in Europe.
Thanks,
Siva
