Changing Standard Print Program

Hi All,

Below I am mentioning how to change the standard print program of SAP with User created Smartform.

For Eg. I am changing the standard print program of Purchase Order

  1. Go to NACE transaction.

   2. Select the application EF with Description Purchase Order and click on Output Types.

     3.You will get navigated to the below screen. Select NEU in the below screen and double click on Processing routines.

      4. Click on the Pen tool the toggle into editable mode. Here in the below screen give your driver program, Form routine which should be called                     during print preview of the Purchase Order and the smartform name in Print output row.

     5. Now click on save button and save the changes.     

     6. To check the changes, go to ME23N. Click on Print Preview.

  • While there may be a valid reason for changing the driver program, I like to follow the SAP Best Practice of leaving the driver program as it is, and using capabilities within a copied-to-customer-version form to change or enhance the output.  Should the driver have to be replaced, one should probably create both driver and form, and document why the customer is no longer using the SAP standard.

      Yeah Break point you are right, I have also mentioned in my document that "its advisable  to create a new output type"

      Yes yu have to change both driver program and form.

      Every organization has there own format of purchase order, Sales order etc, Standard SAP form is unformatted and less in detail
