This covers the "SAP Perspective" from ERP to Business Apps to Analytics to Technology ... nicely aligning with SAP's 5 categories.
ERP: more focused on instance consolidation or a shift from on-premise to cloud. Continued drive to plug TM functionality seamlessly into ERP.
BI: main purpose (right now) to gain visibility, but without real-time access to production data, visibility via BI has clear limitations. SAP HANA is a possible solution.
Good points on Social Media as well ... don't think Twitter/Facebook", instead think of the paradigm ... the process of sharing information and collaboration being built into TM and Logistics network information clouds.
