Getting Started with Analysis OLAP

Analysis OLAP is a web-based tool and is the successor to Voyager and “premium” success to BEx Web Analyzer.  It has a zero client footprint.

It is to be used by the Business Analyst for multidimensional analysis and reporting.  Before using, ensure that the OLAP connections are setup in the CMC.

To start, logon to the BI Launch pad

Select Applications > Analysis edition for OLAP

You will be prompted for a data source and it must be an OLAP data source

Then by Infoarea you can select to connect to a query or a cube

Select one and click OK

If you selected a BEx query and it has variables, you will see the Prompts screen

Complete the prompt selection and click OK

The Analysis Workspace appears.  Note the data source in the Data panel

Click the X to exist the Analysis OLAP workspace and then you can log off the Launchpad
