Have you been following the first day of SAPPHIRE NOW from Orlando? Did you like the customer stories, keynotes and sessions?
We've had some great customer stories, demos, theater sessions and lots more on the Database and Technology Campus today. I will pick out some highlights of my first day at SAPPHIRE NOW and will show you virtually through our campus on Day 1.
First, the morning was really exciting because it is my first live SAPPHIRE NOW ever. And it's a huge show floor, a bit overwhelming but it's a great experience. The D&T campus was crowded since morning and we had some great customer sessions in the theaters such as Bio-Rad, Hydro One, Honeywell and Hilti. And the best thing is that Christian Ritter from Hilti took time to talk to Dan Kearnan and myself about their BW on HANA implementation.
In addition, I was interviewing several partners about their relationship to SAP and experiences with SAP solutions, very often SAP HANA. And Patrick Taylor from Oversight Systems quickly explained the co-innovation relationship with SAP regarding to HANA and I've seen the Oversight demo on an iPad. It's impressive!
Steve Lucas and Oliver Bussmann gave great presentations on how SAP runs SAP and the Database and Technology solutions. My favorite message from Steve Lucas today was: It's not only about the great technology but it's about the customers and their willingness to co-innovate with SAP and create impactful applications".
And the day ended with another key highlight: My first SAPPHIRE NOW keynote, it was an impressive and huge broad cast center with around 10,000 people listening to Bill McDermott and three SAP customers: Burberry, ACE and Redbox. It was a great discussion about technology and innovation and how SAP solutions helped improve their businesses and the CEO of Burberry, Angela Ahrendts, created her own HANA meaning: Heart of the organization that gives Access to information in Nano Second for Awareness.
At the end of the day Andrew, the Campus Manager for D&T interviewed Bill Rojas and Dan Lahl for their highlights around EIM, and Sybase.
