  • DI Should be configured
  • Users who use VC development should have same userid and authorizations related to NWDI to do development.

Technical Details :

2. Define a user with the VisualComposerUser role for portal access :

Navigate to User Administration -> Identity Management and assign VisualComposerUser role to the development users.

3.  Configure Single Sign-On (SSO) :

Configuring SSO establishes a trust relationship between the Visual Composer server and the NWDI server(s), to enable users to authenticate themselves once, and then log on to all of those systems that operate in the SSO environment without further intervention.

In this scenario , NWDI , VC exist in same system.

Login to NWA and navigate to Operations  -> System ->  Application Manager. Search and select the functionality NWDI using CMS and from the Configuration Tasks tab page, select the task SSO Configuration. Choose Execute Via Configuration Wizard from Actions menu.

Configuration wizard starts automatically.

Give credentials with CMS Full permissions and choose Next. Select the track from dropdown which is needed for VC Development. If multiple tracks used for VC Development, repeat this wizard for each specific track again.

Choose Next . Select the check-box as shown below and enter the correct details.

Choose Next and Observed Finished status.

4. Defining Software Component Dependencies :

Open NWDI CMS Landscape Configurator and check the software component of the specific track which is used for VC Development purpose.Open SLD and search for the specific software component and maintain below Build time dependencies.

ENGFACADE , EP_BUILDT , FRAMEWORK , SAP_BUILDT , VCBASE , VTP_BUILDT , WD-RUNTIME , BI-WDALV , CORE-TOOLS , BI_UDI , EP-BASIS-API , ESF , ENGINEAPI , VCFRAMEWORK , VCFREESTYLEKIT , WDEXTENSIONS.

Update the track , save changes , Check-in the above dependencies in the track and Import up to Development and Consolidation tabs.

5. Result :

From NWDS 7.3 , Import the track configuration and create Development component with custom name prefix which used during automation wizard and Select type as Visual Composer.

Development now can be done from NWDS 7.3 or from http://host:port/VC and observe the Software component and DC to use for development.
